Cliff Brown, current President, presided over and welcomed the attending members to the AGM - Mike Bishop, Overseas Secretary and Governor opened the meeting and thanked members of the ICM Executive Committee for their dedicated work.   Ian Tricky was specially thanked for his lengthy contributions as Director of Membership as he stood down from office which then passed over to Roy Blamey who was also was also presented with a Fellowship Certificate ...

... Cliff Presented Mark Rea with the Presidential Regalia and wished him the best in his new position and Mark reciprocated by presenting Cliff with his Past President’s Bar and thanked him for his hard work over the past two years ...

... Mark's first task was to inaugurate Roy Blamey as Vice President and present him with the Insignia of Office ... 

... after having worked in partnership with The ICM for some time in developing the new ICM website portal and its Academy, the ICM Executive agreed that David Jones now be appointed Director of Education and Training adding to the team with Roy ... transitioning the 176 years of The ICM from its earliest record of a body representing construction site supervisors - now a part of The ICM - into a sector wide representative membership accrediting body fit for 21st Century construction and property professionals  ...

The ICM Executive remain observant as to the current UK's government progression making its plans to take the UK out of the EU acting the will of the people expressed in a simple majority result by referendum to leave the EU.   The withdrawal of the UK from the EU - 'Brexit' - situation will affect the current rules in the field of regulated professions and recognition of professional qualification which is currently concerning many professionals in the construction sector ...

... the European Commission has issued its Notice to Stakeholders on 21 June 2018 and as yet the UK gov't has not decided what it will do when all Union primary and secondary law will cease to apply to the UK from 20 March 2019 @ 00:00 hours [unless a ratified withdrawal agreement establishes another date] - negotiations are currently ongoing with a view to reaching a withdrawal agreement ...
