A renewed phase of delivery

The UK Construction Industry Task Force is entering its next phase of activity: strengthening the connections between competence, building safety, better decision-making and Resident Voice.

CITF was convened to bring together professionals, trade bodies, policy-makers, residents and community representatives around practical improvement in the built environment. Its purpose remains unchanged: to support constructive collaboration, evidence-led discussion and action that contributes to safer, more capable and more accountable construction.

Building on early momentum

Since its launch, CITF has benefited from the time, ideas and commitment of many people who helped to convene discussions, develop themes and connect participants across the sector. That early energy created valuable momentum and demonstrated the need for a forum that can bring different perspectives into the same conversation.

As CITF develops, it is now moving from its initial exploratory phase into a more structured phase of delivery. This means clearer arrangements for communications, digital services, events, participation and organisational stewardship.

Clearer foundations for delivery

Strong sector initiatives need systems that support continuity, accountability and participation. CITF is therefore strengthening the way it manages its public information, events, communications and digital services.

The immediate focus is to ensure that people can:

  • Understand CITF’s purpose, priorities and current work.

  • Follow forthcoming discussions and events.

  • Take part through clear, reliable channels.

  • Contribute professional, community and resident perspectives.

  • Access information through stable and appropriately managed digital services.

The Institute of Construction Management continues to provide Secretariat support to CITF during this phase.

CITF Events

CITF is now supported by a dedicated CITF Events platform for upcoming meetings, event information, registration and follow-up.

The platform will support the Task Force’s programme of focused Sprints and other discussions across competence, building safety, governance, housing, professional standards and Resident Voice.

Resident Voice

Resident Voice is central to CITF’s purpose. Better residential outcomes require the experience of residents, leaseholders, tenants and communities to be heard alongside technical, professional, operational and policy perspectives.

CITF is developing practical routes through which lived experience can inform constructive discussion, identify recurring themes and help shape evidence-led action.

The next stage

CITF is not starting again from nothing. It is building on the work, commitment and learning of its first phase, while putting clearer foundations in place for resilient and accountable delivery.

The Task Force will continue to welcome people and organisations who want to contribute ideas, evidence, experience and practical support.

Together, we can turn discussion into delivery—and help create safer, more competent and better-connected construction.
